Dost-9 to Hold Seminar on Nutrition Facts on Food Labels
The Department of Science and Technology-IX (DOST-IX), in coordination with the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), will conduct a Seminar on Understanding Nutrition Facts on Food Labels on 28 October 2008 at Jardin de la Viña Hotel & Restaurant, Gov. Alvarez St., Zamboanga City.
The Department of Science and Technology-IX (DOST-IX), in coordination with the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), will conduct a Seminar on Understanding Nutrition Facts on Food Labels on 28 October 2008 at Jardin de la Viña Hotel & Restaurant, Gov. Alvarez St., Zamboanga City.
The seminar aims to provide information on how to use nutritional facts information on food labels more effectively and easily, thus helping our consumers make healthy food choices. Moreover, during the discussions participants are also expected to learn Nutrition Labeling Requirements of different countries and to compute for Nutrition Facts.
DOST IX expects local food producers / manufacturers / exporters to attend the one-day activity. A registration fee of Three Hundred Fifty pesos (P 350.00) will be charged per participant to defray expenses for meals (1 lunch & 2 snacks) and training materials.
