The Department of Science and Technology IX (DOST-IX) had recently received the Government Best Practice Recognition 2017 (GBPR) from the Development Academy of the Philippines.
The GBPR seeks to recognize successful and validated practices demonstrated by all public sector organizations, and provides a platform to showcase and promote these practices as a way to foster knowledge sharing and to contribute in sustaining performance results in the entire bureaucracy.
Out of 13 finalists, only 5 were chosen to receive the recognition, with DOST-IX recognized for its innovative and customer-focused “Online Referral System”, which grants the public access to the agency’s testing and calibration services no matter where they are in the country.
Through the referral system, the customers’ needs are addressed at a single touch point; samples – from receiving and referral, down to transport and analysis – are handled promptly and seamlessly, allowing for the timely delivery of results to awaiting customers. This innovation was enrolled and presented by DOST IX’s OIC-ARD for Finance, Administrative Support and Technical Services, Ms. Rosemarie S. Salazar.
A formal awarding ceremony will be held on the 11th of October at the Development Academy of the Philippines in Tagaytay City.
