The RxBox - a compact, easy to operate, 6-part telemedicine device capable of providing users with immediate and accurate health data will soon be deployed in Rural Health Units (RHU) in region IX.
In preparation for the rollout, representatives of the selected RHUs gathered for the first RxBox stakeholders’ meeting on December 20, 2016 at Astoria Hotel in Zamboanga City.
The meeting was directed towards introducing stakeholders to the RxBox project's workings; how the technology fits in with existing methods of medical service delivery, the RxBox's components and how they work, and how trainings for its future operators will be conducted.
A total of 58 RHUs in the region are to receive the device; 15 are to be distributed in Zamboanga Sibugay, 18 in Zamboanga del Norte, 23 in Zamboanga del Sur and 2 in Zamboanga City.
The RxBox is the product of the joint initiative of the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Health Region IX and the University of the Philippines - Manila National Telehealth Center.
