The Department of Science and Technology IX's Microbiological laboratory will feature a hygiene monitoring device during their annual Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) in Dipolog city.
Participants of the RSTW will get to play around with Hygiena- a device that determines the bacteria and contamination levels of a given surface by measuring the amount of ATP present on it.
ATP or Adenosine Triphosphate, is an energy molecule found on all living things; the more ATP found on a given surface, the more "living things" that surface has. You'd be surprised on the amount of "living things" you'll find on the palms of your hands.
Hygiena is only one of the many exhibits in the RSTW. Should you be in town, it is highly recommended that you visit the Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Sports Center on July 25-27.
The event is open to all interested individuals (S&T enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, students, researchers, inventors, innovators, professionals and the general public). ADMISSION IS FREE.
