As part of their annual RSTW or Regional Science and Technology Week, the Department of Science and Technology IX will hold a forum on Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) in Dipolog City at the Top Plaza Hotel on July 26, 2016.
The session primarily invites local government units, and will include activities and discussions on weather outlook, the use of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technologies and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as tools in DRRM, Project NOAH (Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards) and the Deployment of Early Warning Systems (DEWS) in Region IX.
Present during the event will be BRENDA L. NAZARETH-MANZANO, Regional Director for DOST IX, MARIBEL ENRIQUEZ, Chief Meteorological Officer of PAGASA Zamboanga City, DR. MARIO RODRIGUEZ, Project Leader for Phil-LiDAR, ATTY. ALANIXON SELDA, Administrator & DRRM Officer for the Municipality of Sindanagan, ZDN, and DR. ALFREDO MAHAR LAGMAY, Executive Director of Project NOAH.
The various agencies in the forum will also have displays and exhibits at the Zamboanga del Norte Convention and Sports Center, from July 25-27, during the RSTW.
