The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) will conduct a two-day Regional Consultative Workshop on Research and Technology Generation for Local Development in Dipolog City on September 20-21, 2016.

The workshop - which is primarily directed towards Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), R&D institutions, and industries - is part of the project Evaluation and Improvement of the Research Publication and IP Productivity of the National R&D System, which aims to promote the use of science, technology and innovation for inclusive development.

NAST has already began moving towards this goal, and has been conducting capability building activities that discuss research and development enabling and support mechanisms, explore regional development plans and the role of DOST R&D consortia in regional development, identify the flagship researches and projects along with future plans of action, develop a stakeholders map for R&D, and develop plans with parallel timelines on how to manage knowledge transfer of research and projects to local development.

Interested individuals or organizations may confirm their attendance to John Apolinario III at 991-1024 (Zamboanga City) or Ms. Merilyn Cadag at (065) 9080117 (DOST-ZDN Office) (Bon Padayhag, DOST IX Press Release)
