The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – IX through the Science Education Institute (SEI) is now accepting applications for the 2013 Science and Technology Scholarships for Second Year College Students.
Scholarship programs being offered are the following: (1) Republic Act 7687 or Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994 for students who belong to a family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values indicated by the DOST Scholarship Unit, and, (2) Merit Scholarship Program for applicants who belong to a family whose socio-economic status exceeds the set values of all identified indicators for the RA 7687.
Interested applicants must meet the following criteria: a natural-born Filipino citizen, regular second year college student at an SUC and CHED COE/COD, bears a General Weighted Average (GWA) of 2.5 or 85% or better in science and math and/or engineering subjects, has no failing grade during first year level, no pending application as immigrant in any foreign country, of good moral character and in good health.
Scholarship privileges include: tuition and other school fees; book allowance; transportation allowance for those studying outside of home province; monthly stipend; and post-graduation clothing allowance.
The examination covers Logical Reasoning, Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics and English. Likewise, two (2) different tests will be administered: one (1) set for Engineering students and another set for those studying basic sciences and other applied science courses.

Qualified applicants shall avail the scholarship grant on the Second Semester of Academic Year 2013-2014.
Deadline for filing of application is on 18 October 2013 and the conduct of the examination is on 24 November 2013.
