The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in a Memorandum dated August 22, 2013 signed by Science Education Institute (SEI) Director Filma G. Brawner, had extended the deadline for filling of applications and submission of requirements for the 2014 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Examination until August 28, 2013 due to the suspension of classes caused by heavy rainfall and flooding in Metro Manila and several provinces in Luzon.
The two types of scholarships being offered are the RA 7687 and Merit scholarship programs. Scholarships in BS degree programs will be awarded to graduating high school students with high aptitude in science and mathematics and willing to pursue fields of science and technology.
Scholarship privileges includes tuition and other school fees; allowance for prescribed textbooks and essential school supplies; outright grant for prescribed Military Science/Physical Education uniform for first year only; free transportation for one economy-class round trip fare between permanent residence and place of study on reimbursement basis (for those studying outside of their home province); monthly living allowance for a 10-11 month duration; group health and accident insurance; additional privileges during summer, if required in the curriculum; and post-graduation clothing allowance.
