Some 50 participants representing four (4) youths organizations in Molave, Zamboanga del Sur actively participated in the Training on Novelty Candles conducted by the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. IX (DOST IX), in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office - Department of Agriculture IX (MAO-DA) and local government unit (LGU) of Molave.
The youths are active members of the Pastoral Youth Archdiocese (PYA) and Parasan 4-H Clubs, Molave Vocational Technical School, and Federation of Rural Improvement Clubs. Collectively, the organizations received a financial assistance of Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000.00) from MAO-DA IX to serve as their start-up capital for the novelty / scented candle making business.
Candles play a huge part in almost all holiday occasions. Candle making is an enjoyable craft and it is easy to learn. Most local craft stores supply the tools, like wax, wicks, and the molds you will need to make your candles a personal signature.
