The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) announces that the Civil Service Commission (CSC) is encouraging more scientific and technological (S&T ) personnel into the government service through the Presidential Decree No. 997, otherwise known as “Conferring Civil Service Eligibilities on Scientific and Technological Specialists on the Basis of their Qualifications and the Requirements of Public Service”.
With this, the DOST Regional Office No. IX invites interested qualified individuals or DOST scholar-graduates and on-going scholars to apply for the eligibility.
The eligibility qualifies the grantee for appointment to appropriate government positions in S&T fields provided said grantee meets all other requirements for appointment.
The applicant must have at least a Bachelor’s degree not covered by board examination in the field of Hard science; and at least three (3) years of continuous experience in research or teaching; or has earned a master’s or doctorate in S&T fields.
The requirements for application are: a) Duly accomplished CS Form 101-A 2005 which can be secured from all DOST Regional and Provincial offices or downloaded at http://www.csc.gov.ph/cscweb/form_page.html; b) Three (3) pieces of 1”x 1” ID picture standard close-up; c) assessment fee of PhP 100.00 payable to DOST; and d) Five (5) copies each of the following documents: 1) Duly certified statement of duties and responsibilities; 2) Original and photocopy of transcript of records and diploma; 3) Recommendation from head of school on the application eligibility which shall include a statement of the applicant’s research or teaching proficiency; 4) List of S&T subjects taught / being taught and the duration of teaching said subjects, duly certified by the Dean of the school; and 5) Other documents related to research papers conducted.
