DOST-IX REGIONAL STANDARDS AND TESTING LABORATORY (RSTL) is once again recognized by the Department of Health for its excellent performance during the CY 2021 Proficiency Testing Scheme for Water Microbiological Testing Laboratory.
The proficiency testing is conducted annually for all accredited Laboratory for Drinking Water Analysis (LDWA) nationwide or for various government, national and local agencies, private entities, persons, and enterprises engaged in drinking water testing in order to provide updated guidelines on the accreditation of laboratories for drinking water analysis and be able to generate accurate and reliable results.
The LDWA is examined to see if it meets the requirements, which include Leadership and Management, Human Resource Management, Information Management, Safe Practice and Environment, and Improving Performance among others.
DOST IX-RSTL is classified under Microbiological Service Capability which means it detects and enumerates coliform organisms (Total coliform, thermotolerant coliforms/E.coli, and HPC) in the water samples.
