The Fisherfolk Association of Kapunungan sa Gagmayng Mangingisda sa Concepcion (KGMC), in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay received funding assistance from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) IX through its Local Grants-In-Aid Program for the establishment of their Oyster Sauce Production amounting to ₱908,375.00.

The Department of Science and Technology IX (DOST IX) is set to celebrate this year’s Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) on 5-9 December at the Garden Orchid Hotel in Zamboanga City, which will focus on the importance and impact of Research and Development in the pandemic era.

On August 27–28, 2022, 11 junior college students from region IX successfully passed the pen-and-paper national qualifying examination for the Junior Level Science Scholarships of the Department of Science and Technology.
