29 March 2020 – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST IX) through the Science Education Institute (SEI) announces the list of qualifiers of the AY 2020-2021 DOST Undergraduate Scholarship Program. The competitive examination was given last October 2019 simultaneously nationwide.

Mr. Norman Jake Mabalot, a researcher based in Zamboanga City had recently received a grant worth ₱345,257.75 to advance studies on the use of Blumea balsamifera (Sambong) leaf extracts for the prevention and treatment of calcium oxalate formations (kidney stones).

These awards are given in recognition of the efforts of DOST technology developers whose technologies have been granted patent or utility model registration in the last three (3) years preceding the award.
